AMBAMAITHREYI

MAITHREYI is second wife of Yaajnavalkya Mahaa Muni. Kaathyaayini is His first wife . Yaajnavalkya is a desciple of Vaishampaayana and The Preceptor of Shukla Yajur Veda , a version of Yajurveda , the other version being Krishna yajurveda.

MAITHREYI is a great philosopher in Her own right where as Kaathyaayini is a House Wife. When it is time for Yaajnavalkya to embrace Sanyaasa Aashram , He gave away all His worldly goods to Kaathyayini and all His Philosophical Vedanthic cum Vedic Knowledge to Maithreyi who along with Her husband renounced all worldly activities and spent the rest of Her Life in the Pursuit of Truth about Paraa Brahman.
