He studied in Guntur ULCM H.S. , Majety Guraviah H.S. , Hindu College and A C College upto B.Sc. Passed MBBS from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnamin 1958 and MS General Surgery in 1962 from AMC , Vizag. He lived three years in England and got his FRCS degree from Edinburgh,Scotland in 1968. He traveled in Paris, Singapore and Kualalumpur - passed his FICS and ECFMG. He also did a Two Year course in Gerontology - Science of Ageing from U.Mass ,Boston ,MA,USA and for a time volunteered his services as a consultant to the Dept of Elder Affairs , State Govt. of Massachusetts in Boston , USA.

In 1992, he retired as HOD , Professor of Surgery , Superintendent , Dean and Director of Medical Education from Guntur Medical College/ Guntur Govt. General hospital .

From 1992 to date he keeps traveling between India and USA. He has two sons and three daughters and seven grand children. His eldest daughter lives in Secunderabad, AP with whom he stays while in India. Rest of his four children is in USA. In USA he lives with his eldest son in Marlborough, Massachusetts, USA. His eldest son is an Engineer. His second son is an Asst. Prof. of Medicine in New Jersey. His two sons - in - law are Physicians in USA.

Currently he is in Rochester < Minnesota < USA with his youngest daughter and he is likely to come to Secunderabad early next year. His Pen Name is " AATHREYA " He is known in Service as Dr RBK or Dr R B Krishna Murthy and in USA as BalaKrishna Murthy Ramaraju

Right now he is a full Vaanaprasthi , happy and contented. He doesn’t have any thing of his own and he is a happy with his children and grand children.
