This is the period that all the departed Ancestors visit Their descendants

in Sookshma Roopam (Invisible Jeevaathma Forms) to Bless and Bestow Boons. During this Fortnight it is our duty daily to think of Them and Pay our Respectful Homage to The Honored Guests. Food Offering (Anna Daanam) in Their Name and Honor is a way of saying our Thanks to Them for having come all the way from Pithru Lokam to Bless all of us.

Pithru (Jano)Lokam (Om Janaha) is one of the 7 Worlds above the Earth.

Pithrus include both Paternal as well as Maternal Ancestors upto Brahma.

Pithroon Tharpayaami, Rusheen Tharpayaami, Devanaam Tharpayaami.
